Hello! Welcome to the University Center- Rapid City (UCRC)! We are excited that you chose the UCRC to continue your education. To ensure the process of becoming a new student is smooth for you, we invite you to attend New Student Orientation on Wednesday, August 21st. It is our goal that you feel comfortable and are prepared for your first year at the UCRC. The schedule for the program will be:
3:00 pm Open House-Meet and Greet. The following offices will be open and ready to assist students with their needs:
- Building Tours every 15 minutes, departing from room 114
- Bookstore will be open until 5:00 pm to make sure you have your textbooks.
- Student ID Cards: Please remember you must have a valid photo ID to obtain your student ID Card. Please note that ID Cards will not be available once the Orientation welcome begins.
- Meet your University Representatives
- Financial Aid will be available to answer questions
4:30 pm Veteran's Center & Benefits: All students who are veterans are encouraged to attend this session.
5:00 pm Welcome, Introductions and Schedule Overview-Room 112
- Administrative Offices: Who is where and how we can help
- Building Amenities: Bookstore, Computer Labs, Vending Stations, Seminar Rooms
- Student Services: Tutoring, Testing, Career Services, Veteran’s Services
- Financial Aid and Tuition Payment Overview

- Computer/Technology Support: Both computer labs will be open (rooms 103 and 106) and staffed with people to help you get started with the computer systems, e-mail, D2L, and WebAdvisor.
7:00 pm Open sessions with University and Center Staff as needed.
